The Avalon Barber Shop.
The Barber Shop at Avalon. For the men and boys it was the place to hang out, catch up on the latest gossip, or maybe to share fishing stories about "the one that got away." Perhaps in this photo they were celebrating a victory on the ball field against Mayodan--a few can be seen wearing their uniforms. Andy Joyce was said to have done barbering at Avalon. C.B. Daniels can be seen left of center wearing a light shirt and a hat.
