The family of Emmett R. Suttenfield. From left to right: Ola Maie Suttenfield, Mrs. Callie Jane Keaton who is holding Florence Estelle Suttenfield, Mr Emmett R. Suttenfield, and Fredrick Daniel Suttenfield. Emmett was credited for taking the picture by using a string to trigger the shutter. Ola Maie, who became Ola Maie Foushee after marriage, was an artist and the author of the book: Avalon: A North Carolina Town of Joy and Tragedy. Her book is where the majority of information on this site came from.
