This Deed made this 14th day of October 1899 by John H. Price and wife Mary H Price of Mayo Rockingham County and State of North Carolina of the first part to the Avalon Mills of Mayodan Rockingham County and state of North Carolina of the second part. Witnesseth; that the said John H Price and wife Mary H. Price Parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty Eight Hundred Eighty Three + 75/100 dollars to them paid by the party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents, do bargain sell and convey to the said The Avalon Mills it's successors & assigned all the right, title, interest and estate of the party of the first part to a tract of land lying in the county of Rockingham and state of North Carolina adjoining the lands of J.M. Gallaway, W Steele and others and Bounded as follows-

Beginning at a stone corner at John H. Price's two acre tract thence with his line N. 24 Deg 10' West 420 ft. to a stone his corner; thence with his line N 75 Deg 10' E 218 ft. to a stone his corner in Jus. M. Gallaway's line; thence with his thence N. Steele's line; thence with his line S. 1 deg 30' West 570 ft to a large White Oak said Steel's corner; Thence with his line

Smith's line S 1 Deg 30' W 792 Ft. to a stone on the north bank of and near to a small branch said John Smith's Corner in the line of the Piedmont Land and Manufacturing Company thence with the line of said company S 88 Deg 30' E 1483 ft. to a stone in old oak stump, corner of said company; thence with their line S 88 Deg 52' E 1245.4 Ft. to a pine corner of said company and the Avalon Mills thence with line of said Avalon Mills N 2 Deg 35' W 95.5 Ft to a white oak, their corner; Thence with their line N 67 Deg 49' E 562 Ft. to a stone with locust pointers, there corner; thence with their line S 69 Deg 25' E 116 ft. to a pile of stones their corner; thence with their line S 34 Deg 30' E 366.7 Ft. to a stone their corner; thence with their line S 11 Deg 20' E 116 Feet to a crooked pine their corner; thence with their line S 53 Deg 05' W 180 Ft. to a cluster of Mulberry sprouts their corner; thence, with their line S 1 Deg 25' W 108 Ft to a stone their corner; thence with their line N 75 Deg 10' E, 339.2 Ft. to the beginning containing one hundred thirteen and thirty three one hundredths (113.33) acres more or less (All the stone corners here given have a few pieces of white delph plate beneath them and a cross mark cut out in the top of them this applies to the preceding and following tracts.) Beginning at a stone in the stump of a wild cherry Jus. M Gallaway's corner and the Avalon Mills corner thence with said Gallaway line 86 Deg 14' West 700 ft to a stone buried in the road leading from Mayodan to Iron Bridge on Mayo River said Gallaway's corner; Thence S 63 Deg W 648.8 ft. with his line to a stone, his corner; in the line of The Avalon Mills; thence with the line of said Company N 75 Deg 10' E 1311 ft. to the beginning containing Two and two one hundredths (2.02) acres more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid tracts of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said

The Avalon Mills It's successors and assigns to their only use and behoof forever, And the said John H Price and wife Mary H Price covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have right to convey the same in fee simple! The same are free and clear from all encumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever, In Testimony Whereof the said John H Price and wife Mary H Price have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written

Johnston Justice of the Peace do hereby certify that John H Price and Mary H Price his wife personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the within Deed of Conveyance; and the said Mary H Price being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntarily execution of the same, doth states that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto witness my hand and private seal this 14 day of October A. D. 1899
